The activities and influence of NALC are wider than may be anticipated. On the NHS Choices website patients selecting an information prescription for laryngeal cancer are able to download many useful documents produced by NALC. Important national groups involved with head and neck cancer such as DAHNO or NCRI include representatives from NALC. At the recent BAHNON conference (specialist nurses for head and neck cancer) officers of NALC provided guidance on topics such as registration with the ambulance service for laryngectomees or training for nurses dealing with neck-breathers.
